Federation Entertainment, which has always had an important presence in Latin America with its children’s content, has experienced “an exponential development” in the market in the last two years in the region. This was announced by Isabella Barsumian, Federation Entertainment Sales executive in the framework of the last MIPCOM in Cannes.

“We have grown a lot in fiction. In children’s content we have always been strong in Latin America, and now we are discovering how to be stronger in fiction and we are thrilled for it,” she said.

She noted that the growth of SVOD has helped open the market for the Federation’s catalog series, not just from France, but from Europe.

“We have the distribution of series from very good production companies and others in-house. We know the production market very well. We were the first Netflix Original in France,” she pointed out.

She indicated that thrillers and dramas do very well in the region, as well as live-action for children.

Federation Entertainment has very good relations in the markets of Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil. “We would be interested in going from country to country. We have done very well with Brazil and Mexico. We would like to develop the local open TV market a little more,” Barsumian said. Regarding the US Hispanic market, she added that they have the feeling that they are demanding a lot of documentaries “and we are heading there. It is a market that we will approach later when that catalog is stronger,” she concluded.
