Marcello Coltro to step down as EVP of Cisneros Media Distribution
08 de septiembre de 2017

Cisneros Media announced that Marcello Coltro has decided to step down as EVP of Cisneros Media Distribution (CMD) after three years in the position, effective September 15, 2017.

Hired to implement the company’s strategy to integrate the areas of Pay TV and Content Distribution, Coltro was responsible for the consolidation of our pay TV channels in Latin America, re-launching VePlus, and expanding the business to the USA, where he successfully launched Venevisión USA.

“I sincerely thank Marcello for his dedication to our company. The passion he puts into his work is contagious and it translates into the many successes he has achieved for Cisneros over the last three years. It has been a pleasure to work with him and see his creative business strategies evolve from ideas to reality, and from reality into new business models. I am sure his contribution to our company will continue to flourish even after his departure”, said Jonathan Blum, president of Cisneros Media.

Coltro spearheaded the strategy to launch Venevision USA – a mix of the best programming produced by Cisneros– and, in a very competitive environment, negotiated the launch of the channel in the Hispanic basic tier carriage for three major distributors in the US: Cox, DIRECTV, and one additional cable system that will be announced in October of 2017.

Another major contribution from Coltro was the creation of Mobius.Lab Productions, a partnership with Getty Images launched in October of 2015.

Coltro also worked side by side with Cisneros top executives and writers from Venezuela to develop their very first “Serie-Novela”, an editable format that can be programmed as a fast paced telenovela or a five season series.

“We are extremely proud to have had Marcello as part of Cisneros. During these last days, we have been working on a smooth handover and I will be personally overseeing the projects and the team Marcello was leading. We are looking forward to hearing much more of his achievements in the near future.” added Blum.
