This month StarTV, a Stargroup company, will begin performing as a DTH operator for the Mexican state of Zacatecas in alliance with Eutelsat, revealed Julio Di Bella, CEO de Stargroup, in an interview with PRODU, and mentioned their initial commercial offer would consist of 50 channels, and that they would add new products in 2016. Di Bella explained that StarTV is the result of TVZac’s migration to DTH. Previously, they broadcast TV via microwave (MMDS) to Zacatecas. This is a strategic measure in the light of changes in use of the allocation of the 2.5 Ghz band. “TVZac -a TV via microwave (MMDS) broadcasting company- began its migration to DTH to become StarTV operator, commercial brand of the Stargroup company and, thanks to the strategic alliance with Eutelsat, will begin operating in December in the Mexican state of Zacatecas” stated the executive.“The MMDS market in Mexico is in a transition stage due to the future change in use of the allocation of the 2.5 ghz band”.“We began our commercial offer with 50 channels and in 2016 will add new products” stated Bruno Pruneda, Commercial and Content Director of the operator.Di Bella added “Eutelsat is our commercial partner, since they provide the necessary satellite capability for the launching of StarTV and guarantees its future growth”.Di Bella, CEO of the company, has a solid career in the TV industry, serving as general director of PCTV and Canal Once. Bruno Pruneda, for his part, was director of TVC Networks as well as Content director at Totalplay and PCTV
