The curated app-based streaming aggregator, ScreenHits TV (SHTV), created by Rose Hulse, and which began operations in the US and the UK with headquarters in London, will be launched this month in Latin America, starting with Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia. It will also expand to EMEA, MENA, APAC, and North American territories.

Hulse soft-launched the service in March 2020, after transitioning from a successful B2B aggregator for the entertainment industry during the previous eight years. The service was officially launched in April 2021.

“Latin America is a key market for us and for the entire OTT industry. With a potential of more than 100 million subscribers, these four markets – Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia – and the rest of the countries are crucial for success in the global streaming wars, not to mention the opportunities in the ever-growing US Hispanic market. We will partner with local versions of international streamers, as well as key national players like Televisa, Globo, and Caracol to provide users with a complete discovery and viewing experience,” Hulse said.

SHTV is a free, intuitive super aggregator that allows subscribers to integrate into one app their mainstreaming platforms such as Amazon Prime, Disney+, Britbox, BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, Kidoodle, Eurosport NBCUniversal, Sony Pictures Television, Lionsgate, AMC Networks, Bloomberg TV News, BBC News and iPlayer, Channel 4, ITV Hub, BFI, ATP TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Paramount+, Hulu, and more. In the US, SHTV currently hosts 32 streaming services, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Paramount+ and Hulu.

The service will also offer packages or bundles that will offer savings to consumers on premium streaming services.

SHTV is currently available on computers via www.screenhitstv.com, on LG Plus Smart TVs, on Amazon Fire TV Stick, Roku Stick, Apple Store, Google Chromecast, iOS and Android.

“With our unique curated business model, we only source of the top global and local video producers in each market and have a rapidly growing list of both global giants and top regional premium content partners, including Joyn from Germany, ProSiebenSat.1 Media and the VOD joint venture with A+E Networks Germany’s Discovery, History Play and Crime+Investigation Play (also seen in Austria and Switzerland), with more to come soon,” says Hulse.

Mariano Kon, who since July 2021 is general manager and VP of Content and Business Development for Latin America at ScreenHits TV, is responsible for promoting the expansion of the service in the region. “When we saw how important Latin America is for our service, we thought that Mariano was the one who could take this business to the next level,” said Hulse.

Hulse adds that they aim for the kick-off of 10 to 15 SVOD platforms in the LatAm service. “I understand very well the media space in Latin America. This aggregator is a good way to minimize SVOD churn. It is a great opportunity,” she expressed.
