Univision Communications Inc. announced that Mónica Talán has been appointed executive vice president of Corporate Communications and Public Relations for Univision Communications Inc., effective immediately. Talán, who was most recently the senior vice president of Corporate Communications and Public Relations, will remain based in New York and report to Randy Falco, president and CEO of Univision Communications. She will continue to be responsible for overseeing all corporate and internal communications, programming public relations and the Company’s media relations efforts. “At Univision, it is a top priority for us to effectively communicate our story and position of strength in the media landscape, as well as to shine a light on the immense power of the U.S. Hispanic community. It takes a skilled communicator, strategic thinker and strong leader to spearhead these efforts for a company as dynamic as Univision. As the Company continues its evolution as one of the most diverse, innovative and influential multiplatform media companies in the country, I am confident that Mónica and her team will leverage their exceptional strategic communications and brand building capabilities to benefit Univision and all of our constituencies,” said Falco. Prior to joining Univision in 2008, Talán spent more than 10 years at Fleishman-Hillard, most recently as senior vice president/partner, and senior counselor and strategist for general and Hispanic market initiatives for several key clients, including AT&T, the Department of Homeland Security and Procter & Gamble.
