Shootings are paused —including that of El Asesino del Olvido
, an adaptation of Persona
by Ay Yapim from Turkey—, but ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) continues working strongly in pre-production and development.
“What attracts me the most about my work is development and production, watching a project be born from the moment it is an idea until it ends up captured in a video," said Federico Cuervo, SVP and general director of VIS, during the interview with Ríchard Izarra on #PRODUprimetime.
He emphasized that VIS is developing an in-house and external talent mix, that is why in the last few months he has signed with talents such as the Argentineans Juan José Campanella and Ariel Winograd, the production company based in New York, Frida Torreblanco or the Spaniard Santiago Segura, among others. Additionally, they are looking for partners to share the production or to produce for them, with the services of their 14 studios in the region (11 from Telefe).
Despite the circumstances, the business continues moving forward. There were special realizations in times of the pandemic, such as Juntos a la Distancia
, an hour-and-a-half recital with Latin American artists such as Tini, Yatra, Mon Laferte (for MTV, Comedy Central, Paramount Network, Telefe) and they will also do, this time virtually, the regular presentation in May (on LA Screenings). Additionally, they are working on reinventing the company`s live traditional events: Kids Choice Awards, MIAW MTV, and Comedy Central Fest.Watch the interview of Federico Cuervo from VIS on #PRODUprimetime with Ríchard Izarra
