Wade Davis of TelevisaUnivision: Our streaming services will be profitable in a year

TelevisaUnivision streaming services will be profitable in its first year of operations, said Wade Davis, CEO of the company during the Bank of America Securities 2022 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference.

ViX was launched in March, while ViX+ on July 21, about six weeks ago, and both paid subscriptions and advertisers have been steadily increasing in Mexico and the US.

This growth, plus the large content library owned by Televisa and Univisión, along with the huge machinery for low-cost audiovisual production, are factors that have contributed so TelevisaUnivision’s streaming services report income and earnings that reflect its profitability just one year after kicking off.

“We believe that in less than a year of operations we are able to deliver profitability with the company’s streaming services. In addition, our battle is not in more than 186 territories where there is a lot to invest, it is primarily in the Hispanic market,” said Davis.
