Juan Carlos Martin studied filmmaking at the Cinematography Training Center in Mexico City. He has directed more than 600 commercials for Mexican television and has won a host of prizes, including the Moebius AdvertisingPrize and the Golden Promax Award, along with FIAP, Ojo de Iberoamerica and Circulo de Oro awards.He has also directed an impressive lineup of hit music videos, and among his other honors is an MTV Video Music Award for Best Director. Artists he has directed include the likes of Santa Sabina, Romantico Desliz, Victimas del Dr. Cerebro, Mana, La Ley, Molotov, Shakira, Ian Brown, Moenia and Joselo.In 2002 he came out with his first feature film, Gabriel Orozco, a movie honored with the Ariel for Best First Work, the Mayahuel for Best Director at the 2002 Guadalajara Film Festival, along with Best Film (the first for a documentary) and Best Sound, also at Guadalajara.
