Tito Lara started in the audiovisual world since he was a kid when playing with a Super 8 camera, experiencing and discovering a world of fiction of colors and textures. He studied art and photography in the South Western College, in San Diego, California; and Cinema in the UCLA Extensions. He considered becoming a director because he found it amusing to find the perfect formula to show concepts and ideas and make them real. “For me, it is important to be constantly surrounded by the visual information world, it helps me solve that precise formula you have to find to make every commercial and thus find the magic for every story to be unforgettable” he commented.His studies and his curiosity for the audiovisual, took him to make short and long format video clips, for the most well-known Latin America artists, and then winning many prizes, such as US MTV and even a Grammy, among them.Lara is leader in the content independent production for television in Latin America and when he starts a project he includes all the production areas. At the beginning of his career, he worked for television chains in Mexico, such as: Multivision, Televisa and Television Azteca. He confirmed his remarkable trajectory making his own concepts of programs and selling them to channels as important as Discovery Channel, USA Networks, E! Entertainment and MTV.In the advertising world, and seduced by perfection and the great challenge of telling a lot in such a short time, he started directing commercials in 1997. He made campaigns for Mexico, the United States and Latin America. As a director, he has worked for advertising agencies such as McCann Erickson, Young and Rubicam, J. Walter Thompson, Ogilvy, Lowe, Grey, Draft FCB and Conill. On a regular basis, his talent has made important commercials for clients like Coca Cola, Nestle, Grupo Bimbo, Sky, Nextel, Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc, Cerveceria Modelo, Motorola, Ferrero, Black and Decker, Kerns Juices, Cadbury Schweppes, Pfizer, Wal Mart, Gerber, Sony and Crest.His favorite film maker is David Lynch, who inspires him in his way of dreaming, an important source for his life and work. Nevertheless, he is always looking for leaving his personal signature in the audiovisual productions he makes. “I turn around the story and the visual proposal. I move away from what is predictable and commercial. I am always focused in two things: a very well planned production design and a detailed search of actors”.He is currently directing commercials and he is being represented by different producers such as Mutante films (Mexico), Albiñana films (Spain) and Milagro films (USA).
