Patricio Schmidt might be considered a versatile and tenacious talent. This director and cameraman, has been part of very complex projects requiring handling the many different duties for an audiovisual production company as Whiskey Films. He directed his very first short film at age 17 at the Andean Mountains. Ever since, his career has been full of success and learning experiences.Born in Santiago de Chile, he directed the short film Mapocho during his school years; a project presented at a number of documentary festivals and awarded in Europe. Later, works like Hiunay (2006) and Ko (2007), made Schmidt a deserving winner of several accolades, as his career became more and more exciting. Being a director gives you the possibility to work with fantastic talents beside you and learn new things every day. I always feel I am learning something different, a new window that opens for me and I love that more every day”After several years working as director for JWT advertising production company, and having worked in campaigns for countless products, he started directing for advertising at age 23. Ever since, he has shot TV ads around the world for top clients and agencies such as Chevron/Texaco, Coca Cola, PepsiCo, Colgate, Toyota, Wella, and Palmolive.On top of that, his projects have also taken him to South Africa, Vietnam, London, Warsaw, and many other places for the past ten years. He is currently filming a series of American cultures ethnical fiction short films with short poetic stories which promise to be really extraordinary.”I love stories full of contents, outdoors and soulful stories. I love shooting what cannot be seen, whats behind the image, thats what Im after, the deepest expression from the soul on every single shot”.His talent has taken him to exclusive, exotic places, as he shot commercials for Almmete at the Carpathians on the border between Poland and Slovakia, and Procter & Gamble for the first launching of Naturella in China, as well as the world campaign for Reckitt Benckiser.After working in Vietnam the launching of Lipton Tea for the Russian market of Lipton Nature, and shooting in the tropical forests of Costa Rica, in fall of San Luis Potosí in Mexico, at the Dominican Republic beaches, the South African prairies to modern cities like Paris, Moscow, and Kiev, and many other places, he joined Whiskey Films four years ago, establishing his center of operations in Chile.To conclude, Schmidt said he was pleased to see the Chilean productions quality levels, which according to his experience, have a great development potential.
