AgoraÑ, Miami’s First Spanish-Language AI Community, Launches to Foster Hispanic Innovation and Inclusion

30 de mayo de 2025

Miami is now at the epicenter of a transformative initiative with the presentation of AgoraÑ, the city’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) association conducted in Spanish. Driven by the urgent need for a dedicated space for the Spanish-speaking community in the fast-paced world of AI, AgoraÑ aims to be a catalyst for Hispanic inclusion, innovation, and leadership in this critical field. The association is founded by Juan José Nuñez, Patricia Tavira, and Nicolás Muñoz.

Juan José Nuñez, one of its founders, describes the project as “urgent, transformative, and above all, very necessary.” He states, “Today, artificial intelligence is changing everything: the way we work, how we learn, how we communicate. But the Hispanic community doesn’t have its own space to actively participate in that global conversation. And that, clearly, has to change.”

The choice of Miami as its headquarters and Spanish as its primary language of communication is strategic. “There are more than 500 million Spanish speakers, and Miami is a key hub connecting the U.S., Latin America, and Europe,” explains Nuñez. “This city has immense talent, dynamism, and great diversity to lead this initiative, with the vision of, perhaps in the future, expanding to Spain and Latin America as well.”

The need for AgoraÑ arose from direct observation. “We realized that there are several artificial intelligence associations in Miami operating in English. Many Hispanic and Latino individuals attended these conferences and told us: ‘I think I understood a good deal, but there are things I couldn’t fully extract the value from, things I missed because, being in English, I didn’t understand them perfectly.’ From there, the need to create this association now in Spanish arose,” Nuñez details.

AgoraÑ seeks to bridge this gap, offering a platform where Spanish-speaking professionals, enthusiasts, and learners can delve into AI, share knowledge, and collaborate in their native language, ensuring no insights are lost in translation.
