CDC United Network: We want to produce commercial films that have the potential for the Hispanic market

In this edition of LA Screenings, CDC United Network is going to present for the first time several titles such as the animation Ploey – You Never Fly Alone; the family comedy Lilly’s Bewitched Christmas, and the drama Euphoria.

They will also take other titles like The Last Face with Charlize Theron, Gun Shy with Antonio Banderas and Hachiko with Richard Gere, among others.

Jimmy van der Heyden, Sales Manager, commented that the Screenings have lost a bit of strength for independent producers, but it is still a good opportunity to meet with clients, do networking and be able to share with friends and colleagues.

2018 started off very strong for the company. At Natpe they presented a lot of launches and announced the acquisition of a package of more than 50 titles at the level of major studios with star casts.

“Obviously, we generated a great deal of interest and have already been able to close several agreements, both with pay TV and open TV channels as well as with streaming platforms. We are in negotiations to close more agreements and the LA Screenings are the perfect occasion to do this,” he said.

To advance beyond this year’s sales, they want to take one step forward in local content production, whether it is in Spanish or in Portuguese.

He announced that in alliance with producers from Mexico, they already identified several interesting projects. The goal is to produce commercial films that will go to movie theaters and that will also have the potential for the Hispanic US market. The goal is to develop three productions in Mexico and two in Brazil annually.
