Estrella Media highlighted the positive performance of the field of FAST channels in Spanish in the US during its virtual advertising upfront. The company’s double-digit year-on-year growth led its presentations at the NewFronts in IAB last week and in its Upfront 2023 held on Tuesday the 9th.

René Santaella, Chief Digital & Streaming Officer, said the company’s FAST package has seen 10 million unique videos per month and more than 280 million minutes streamed. He spoke of the tremendous growth that the media company has had in only short years since it launched its four FAST channels.

“FAST has become the next consumer media platform. It’s expected that by 2025 FAST advertising will exceed US$6 Billion in revenue. Free streaming is the #1 way for people under 45 to watch TV, with a blurry share between connected TV, FAST, vMVPD (virtual multichannel video programming distributor) and on-demand devices. FAST is now an important part of platforms’ packages and channels that a viewer regularly watches,” commented Santaella.

Estrella Media’s four FAST channels (Estrella TV, Estrella Games, Cine Estrella TV and Estrella News) have become a FAST package with a high viewership.

In addition, he announced that Freevee, FuboTV and SlingTV are joining Estrella Media’s FAST channels and its connected TV partners. He also informed that thanks to the partnership with Amagi they will be able to migrate their broadcast streaming operations to a completely cloud-based streaming in the upcoming months. This move will improve the efficiency of Estrella Media’s FAST operations to meet the rapidly changing requirements of live digital video advertising, programming and distribution.

Estrella Media’s FAST channels are available on: EstrellaTV app, Amazon FireTV news app, Freevee, FuboTV, Google TV, LG Channels, Local NOW, Plexo, Pluton TV, Roku Channel, Samsung Plus TV, SlingTV, Tubi, Vizio Watchfree and Xumo.
