Producer and filmmaker Rafael Lara: We are working on the production of two police series for different platforms

The producer and TV and film director Rafael Lara, who produced the program Espacio Shorts México, broadcast on AZ Cinema de TV Azteca, announced they are preparing two police-style series, whose production will begin in the second semester of 2018.
“They are two series in the style I like, one is a detective-type series with action, similar to 24. It differs from the traditional melodrama and comedy, genres in we usually move. I am also in an advanced stage of development of another series based on a true story of a Latino spy. It is a police thriller I will start to shoot in the second semester,” explained the producer.
He assured that this last one was acquired by Álvaro Garnica, with whom he worked years ago in the series Al Filo De La Ley in the US: “It is a story in which he found the true character, bought the rights and I made the adaptation. It is an interesting story, unknown and real. It is going to create a buzz and in my personal case, allow me to return to series production, something I like very much.”
The filmmaker is also producing a film on Jesus Christ, starring Julián Gil that is expected to be in movie theaters at the end of the year: “It is a huge production, with special effects, complex sound design, and a modern vision in Spanish.”
