Sudden death of Argentine producer Paola Suárez shocks the industry

Paola Suárez, founder of the Cordovan production company Jaque Content, died at the age of 41 of a heart attack while she was jogging. Her early death shocked the Argentinian industry and the region. Paola was highly respected, and she was known for her intelligence, her great empathy, and for being a great advocate for women’s rights and inclusion.
She has always worked to promote and disseminate the productions of Córdoba, through the Association of Audiovisual Producers of Córdoba (APAC), of which she was a founding member. She achieved recognition in the industry for the production of her La Chica que Limpia, which has its Mexican version and a Spanish and American version is already in the works. This fiction, which in 2017 was the most watched series on the Cine.ar (Incaa) platform and received a PRODU Award in 2019, was adapted in Mexico by WarnerMedia and BTF Media and premiered on June 20 on HBO, under the name La Muchacha que Limpia.
Throughout her career, she founded several companies. One was Oruga Realizaciones and Oruga Films (which produced documentaries and fictions from 2005 to 2012).
Among her works are also fictions such as El Otro Verano (2018), RRPP (2018) and Atlántida (2014), and documentaries such as En el Nombre del Pueblo (2018 season 1 and 2019 season 2).
In the networks there were countless expressions of sorrow. “Very sad news really, totally unexpected, too soon. With much affection and much regret. May you rest in peace,” wrote Ezequiel Olzanski of EO Distribution.
“Pao dear, rest in peace,” said Cecilia Gómez de la Torre de Tondero; “What sad news” were the words of Moira Mc Namara from Ledafilms; “Too sad! Great colleague and best human being! In shock,” Angela Suárez wrote; “What sad and unexpected news” said Leyla Formoso.
