Telemundo 47/WNJU New York names Colum Carey VP of Sales

In his new role as VP of Sales, Carey will work with advertisers to maximize opportunities within the Hispanic television market

Telemundo 47/WNJU has named Colum Carey VP of Sales. Beginning Monday, October 3, Carey will lead local and national sales and business development strategies for the station. 

In his new role as VP of Sales, Carey will work with advertisers to maximize opportunities within the Hispanic television market. He will also partner with Telemundo 47’s Creative and Digital groups to generate revenue growth and increase profitability across all station channels.

“Colum is highly-respected within the sales industry for his general market expertise and record of success. He knows our brand, knows the market, knows the players and has a clear vision that will help take our station to the next level. As a senior sales leader at our sister station NBC 4 New York, Colum is also uniquely positioned to serve as a bridge between the NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 sales teams, which will further expand our reach within the Hispanic and general markets. We are thrilled to welcome Colum to our Telemundo family,” said Cristina Schwarz, Telemundo 47 president and general manager.

Carey joins Telemundo 47 from NBC 4 New York/WNBC, where he currently serves as Local and National Sales manager for NBC’s flagship station. He brings more than 20 years of experience into his new role, and possesses deep ties to New York’s advertising communities through his work as an account executive, political specialist and sales manager.
