Maria Celeste Al Rojo Vivo
Regarding the dismissal of the journalist and host María Celeste Arrarás from the Telemundo network after a 20-year career path there, the company issued an official statement highlighting the importance of Arrarás for the growth of the network in the US Hispanic market.
“María Celeste has been an icon and an integral part of Telemundo`s growth to be able to become a leading network in Spanish. She is an awarded and consummated journalist with great passion and unrelenting commitment for serving our communities and we are extremely grateful for her unwavering dedication and her contributions to Hispanics and Telemundo´s success all these years,” said Telemundo in an official statement.
Arrarás is part of the announcements made in recent days by Jeff Shell, CEO of NBCUniversal, regarding the adjustment of TV divisions and the company’s theme parks due to the economic emergency generated by a coronavirus. Arrarás wrote on her social networks that she no longer belonged to Telemundo, where she was the host of Al Rojo Vivo for almost 18 years.
Rashel Díaz, a host of the program Un Nuevo Día, was also dismissed from the network. She had been in that space for 12 years.
No other adjustments have been announced, but each of the company’s departments is undergoing strict revision.
