Sandra Peebles is one of the best-known faces on Spanish-language television in South Florida. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Suncoast Chapter recognizes her twenty-five year journalistic presenting her with the Silver Circle Award 2017. This annual distinction was only bestowed upon six professionals who have contributed with exemplary excellence, for a quarter of a century, to the television industry.
Her beginnings in mass media go back to 1992, when Peebles began working with the cable TV company Dynamic Cablevision / Miavision, carrying the camera and editing two pieces per day, one in Spanish and one in English.
She then spent two years at WSCV-Telemundo 51 reporting the weather, four years at WTVJ-NBC 6, and has spent her last 18 years at WLTV-Univision 23, where she has served as news anchor and reported on politics, health, and investigative assignments. Sandra attributes her staying power in the industry to her undying commitment to informing the Hispanic community with integrity and ethics, always seeking the truth.
Her work on Univision 23 in Miami has earned her the 10 Emmy Awards in a broad range of categories.
