10 YEARS OF TONO STUDIOS – Raquel Ramírez of Tono Studios: Our Vision Is to Grow With the Market

Ramírez: Considero que Tono ha sabido mantener la lealtad de los clientes

As a Hispanic women in an industry led by men, Raquel Ramírez had to overcome many obstacles and turned them into opportunities. Becoming independent and starting her own business took her to create, together with Jaime Zapata, Tono Studios, a production house with 10 years of experience. “Starting a business is like riding a rollercoaster. Sometimes the ride can be slow and smooth, and suddenly it becomes so fast that the adrenaline is at its highest level. I can’t say it was easy, but it was the best decision I made as a professional. It comes with many challenges. It’s not easy. To own a business, you have to have a passion for what you’re doing. Otherwise, nothing is achieved,” said Ramirez, CEO of Tono Studios. With ten years providing her talent to the Hispanic market, Ramirez stated that the U.S. segment is a very important one. “In a business sense, it’s an unique market and has a lot more to give. More than 20 years ago there were only two Spanish TV networks. Nowadays, there are not only TV networks, but platforms and social media outlets. People today can choose the place and time to watch what they want, and in the language they wish.” The goal is being capable to serve production companies that are creating content for platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, among others. “Our vision has always been to grow together with the market, with the country, with the world. We’re living times of changes and we have to be there to remain.” She added that the only thing that will remain unchanged is costumer service. “You have to provide them with what they need at the right speed.” Tono Studios is preparing a great celebration to close this first decade and begin the next one.
