The brand goes straight to the heart of this date, stripping it from artifice and leaning into some of the funniest lines we have all heard before
As part of its ongoing Bourbon Without The Bullshit platform, Green River tapped Founders to create a Valentine’s Day campaign that embraces the awkward, overly familiar language of modern romance and turned it into something unmistakably bourbon. Running across social and digital placements, the work reframes classic pickup lines through the lens of whiskey craftsmanship, blending humor, cultural truth, and product storytelling in equal measure.
Based on its Bourbon Without The Bullshit concept, the brand goes straight to the heart of this date, stripping it from artifice and leaning into some of the funniest lines we have all heard before.
We built this campaign by tapping into the cultural realities of dating—the bad openers, the recycled pickup lines, the late-night texts that try a little too hard. Instead of pretending modern romance is effortless, we leaned into what it actually sounds like in the DMs…and flipped it on its head.
“You’re Single, I’m Single” plays on the chaos of dating culture while nodding to what we do best: single malt. No blends. No confusion. Just one solid thing, standing on its own.
“Are you 90-proof? Because I like it classic” takes a cheesy line and ties it back to what proof really means—strength, character, substance. We’re not watered down, and neither is our approach.
“Are you a long finish? Because you’re still on my mind” turns a flirty one-liner into a bourbon truth. A great whiskey lingers. It leaves an impression.
The thread through it all? Dating might be full of games, but our whiskey isn’t. We lean into the cringe, the charm, and the cultural chaos—then bring it back to what we stand for: no bs. Real ingredients. Real proof. Real character.
To close the piece, the idea reinforces Green River’s positioning by turning dating clichés into product truths—proving that while romance may be complicated, the brand’s approach to bourbon remains refreshingly straightforward.
