American Cinematographer: Virtual Production boosts content quality and delivery time

Estudios Churubusco and Simplemente are continuing to drive audiovisual production forward by joining forces to launch a virtual production forum. This innovative collaboration aims to revolutionize content creation in Mexico. Recently presented to the market, the forum showcased the capabilities and benefits of virtual production through a masterclass led by Noah Kadner, editor of Virtual Production for American Cinematographer and author of the Virtual Production Field Guide for Epic Games.
“With the launch of this forum, Mexico’s virtual production capabilities have taken a giant leap forward, enabling the creation of immersive digital environments on par with those seen in blockbuster films like Star Wars,” Kadner explained.
He added, “During the masterclass, a live demonstration showcased the forum’s capabilities. One of the most impressive examples was the recreation of Mexico City during the 1985 earthquake, featured in the Amazon series Cada Minuto Cuenta. This demonstration illustrated how large-format LED screens can be used to create a fully digital urban environment where actors interact in real-time, seamlessly blending physical elements with computer-generated backdrops.”
