On September 30, 1996, Atresmedia Internacional’s first channel began to broadcast in Mexico through the MVS group, becoming the first private Spanish channel to broadcast outside the country. Twenty years later, Antena 3 Internacional can claim to reach 17 million households in some thirty countries all over the world.

During these two decades, Antena 3 Internacional has become a quality news channel on top of the latest news in Spain and the world, always from the spot where the news is happening. In the same way, it is also sets the standard in entertainment for the whole family, making respect for the viewer its trademark, with programs that have made television history, such as El Hormiguero 3.0., La Ruleta de la Suerte, and series such as Gran Hotel, Velvet and El Secreto de Puente Viejo.

Innovative and fully engaged in the new digital world, the network has invested in the future and in tailoring its product to what viewers want. Accordingly, at the start of the year, it launched its own website, posting profiles on the main social networks as a vantage point for better communication with its viewers.

In the words of Mar Martínez Raposo, international director of Atresmedia, “we’ve completed the first 20 years, and the road has been tremendously enriching. We want to share with our audience an amusing look at the programs and events that have enabled us to reach this point.”

The road traveled over all this time by Antena 3 Internacional facilitated the creation this year of Atresmedia Internacional, where the more distinguished channel shares a space with two other international signals: ¡HOLA! TV (September of 2013) and Atreseries Internacional (March of 2014). As a consequence, Atresmedia is the private European operator with most channels beyond its borders, and with the greatest number of households subscribing.
