Semana del Amor Por la Tierra features a nine-day marathon with stories that celebrate the beauty and wonders of the natural world
To celebrate Earth Day, Blue Ant Media and its channel Love Nature are launching the Semana del Amor Por la Tierra campaign, featuring a nine-day marathon with stories that celebrate the beauty and wonders of the natural world.
“Celebrating Earth Day is a natural connection for Love Nature,” says Julio Sobral, VP of Channel Distribution for the US and Latin America at Blue Ant Media.
Every April, the Love Nature channel offers the public a week-long programming event called Semana del Amor Por la Tierra, aligned with Earth Day, and includes a marketing campaign with on-air promotions and a promotional digital strategy. “As part of Semana del Amor Por la Tierra, Love Nature highlights programs that amplify our human connection with the planet, including the premiere of Evolution Earth, and a preview of a new anthology series called Wild Icons that celebrates the diversity of Earth’s wildlife,” Sobral highlights.
Sobral comments that Love Nature supports conservation and sustainability in two significant ways. “First, we have established a social responsibility initiative called Love Nature Gives Back, which supports the conservation of wild animal species and habitats featured in Love Nature programming. A key part of the initiative is to create unique opportunities for viewers to directly support conservation organizations. Additionally, Love Nature Gives Back provides support to conservation organizations by creating promotional material for them and collaborating on joint social media campaigns to help them achieve their goals,” he said.
The second way they support conservation and sustainability is through the Albert certification that all Love Nature productions comply with. “Albert is an environmental organization that aims to encourage the TV and film production industry to reduce waste and their carbon footprint. The Albert certification requires productions to implement specific sustainable production techniques to reduce carbon emissions where possible and offset when not possible,” Sobral explained.
