Olegario Vazquez Aldir

Olegario Vázquez Aldir, CEO of Grupo Empresarial Ángeles, said that with less than two years of broadcasting, they can proudly announce that Imagen TV has established itself as the third television network in Mexico.

“It’s a very short period of time for the industry, but for us and for Mexican society it means a lot. For 50 years there was only one network and during the last 25 years, only two. We already have 15% of market share and we established ourselves as the third network” he said.

Vázquez Aldir explained that it has been an effort and detail work from the beginning, starting with the image design, programming, news, fiction and entertainment to strategically align all the elements and connect with the audience.

He highlighted the role of co-productions during this process since alliances with strategic partners have allowed them not only to make a greater investment for their projects but also to raise production values.

“The industry is undergoing a transformation. We are aware that digital platforms and social networks will become more important and we are prepared. We have the great advantage of being a multimedia company that allows us to be more versatile, have options. We have news 24 hours, two radio platforms, a traditional newspaper, which is about to turn 102 years old, and a media company in the digital field” he said.

During the network’s upfront, he said to his clients and stakeholders: open TV numbers are still encouraging in Mexico, with 98% of penetration. He explained that even with the changes imposed by the new digital reality, those who continue to offer quality content will continue to have relevant spaces.
