El Chavo dolls hit major U.S. retailers, priced under $20

On a second interview granted to PRODU regarding the grand launch of the merchandising of El Chavo in the U.S., Maca Rotter, Executive Director of Televisa Consumer Products, explains in detail the obstacles that for many years prevented the realization of their goal.The first article discussed Rotter’s feelings about this historic achievement, six years in the making. This second interview reveals details of execution, the participants, and of the product line that will hit shelves August 15th, the official launch date, through December 2014.She emphasized the importance of the Chavo Challenge campaign the company deployed: it collected testimonies of Hispanic explaining what El Chavo meant to them. JAKKS Pacific CEO Stephen Berman personally interviewed people around him, like his gardener and domestic staff, to convince himself of the project’s potential.
