Kelly Day, president of Streaming and Operations director at ViacomCBS Networks International, was in charge of giving the details of the launch of the Paramount + service outside the US.

The new platform will be launched in 18 countries in Latin America on March 4. It will also be available online on ParamountPlus.com and on TV devices and mobiles connected through the Paramount+ application for iOS and Android; there are already distribution alliances with Claro Video, Mercado Libre, Izzi, Megacable, Total Play, Claro Brasil, Vivo, Oi, Incomm and Dish.

“With an unparalleled global presence on linear television, SVOD and AVOD, combined with a potent content engine that includes a huge library and a vast portfolio of original premium shows, ViacomCBS is in a unique position to make the most of the enormous opportunity the streaming market poses worldwide,” said Day.

JC Acosta, president of ViacomCBS International Studios & Networks Americas, added: “ViacomCBS is in a unique position to offer a premium service both to our consumers and our partners, together with the launch of Paramount+, since we are making the most of our vast reach and the solid relations we have in the Latin American market. Through ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS), we can offer premium content in Spanish to create a real experience both at a global and a local level, for all audiences”.

In fact, through VIS, the new service will include Latin American originals such as The Envoys, a supernatural thriller by the director and scriptwriter Juan José Campanella and Cecilia, by the Argentinean director and writer, Daniel Burman, starring the Mexican Mariana Treviño.

After its launch, consumers in Latin America will be able to subscribe to a free seven-day trial and then access a monthly subscription of $79-pesos in Mexico, $19.90 reales in Brazil, and $299 pesos in Argentina. The price varies in other Latin American countries.
