In the first post-coronavirus stage, TV is going to have controlled forums, outdoor events with limitations, and distancing between characters, explained Marcos Blanco, VP Scripted Development at Telemundo Global Studios during his participation in #PRODUprimetime with Ríchard Izarra.

“A writer can do what he wants with a story to manage not having kisses as they do in Turkish stories,” adds Blanco who is originally a musician and composer in his native Cuba, but has been devoted to writing for TV for 21 years in Venezuela, and since 2003 in Miami, the US, with Telemundo.

“My first job on TV was with Pilar Romero in 1999 as a member of her team of writers. Before that, I had been a composer and musician and had not written anything. The experience was very good. I remained fixed on the idea of writing stories for TV,” he mentioned. In 2003, Roberto Stopello invited him to write stories for TV,” he says. In 2003, Roberto Stopello invited him to write in the first telenovela made in Telemundo Studios, Amor Descarado, “and there I started writing”.

He mentioned the case of an Australian series whose production in 2020 shows less makeup, isolated production teams, no extras, no kisses nor intimate scenes. “We will have to invent new formulas,” he said.

To end, he sent a message to writers and artists saying that it is the moment to be more creative than ever. “This pandemic has to unleash
our creativity and as in each of mankind`s serious situations, artists have shown all their talent and creativity”.
