The drama Kaçak (126×60’) makes its U.S. debut on Azteca America on Monday, February 1 from 9:30pm to 11pm ET. After the special 90-minute premiere, the show will air at its regular nightly time from 10pm to 11pm ET (9pm to 10pm CT). The show has been edited and dubbed for Azteca’s Spanish-speaking audience. Kaçak is the hit action series from Turkey about Serhat (Gurkan Uygun), a family man who finds he can’t outrun his past as he is dragged back into a war with old Mafia adversaries. In a previous life as a policeman, Serhat kills the son of a Mafia boss, forcing him to change his identity and escape to a small town. He lives a calm family life as a café owner until his life changes again when he gets caught up in a robbery of a local jewelry store. Serhat disarms the criminals, becomes the town hero, and his story tops the national news. The unwanted publicity reveals his hidden identity and soon, dark characters from his past close in on him and the people he loves. The series joins Azteca’s lineup of sports, dramas, and reality programming. “We’re thrilled to bring Kaçak to our Spanish-speaking U.S. audience, who will be captivated by this international thriller as much as the rest of the world. Kaçak is the perfect addition to our lineup and part of our ongoing strategy to deliver compelling, quality content with first-rate production value for our audience,” said Margarita Black, VP Programming, Azteca America.
