Ruby's Bucket of Blood

Ultra Film announced the network premiere of the critically-acclaimed film Ruby’s Bucket of Blood on Tuesday, November 28th at 10pm EST.

Starring the award-winning actress and activist, Angela Bassett, Ruby’s Bucket of Blood tells the story of Ruby Delacroix, a strong and ambitious woman who runs a run-down honkytonk for black customers. Trapped between keeping her business afloat and trying to keep tabs on her unfaithful husband, Ruby gives into temptation and starts a passionate affair with a local white singer who was looking for a quick gig at her joint. Their relationship proves to be a dangerous play in the segregated south, turning into an inevitable catalyst changing the lives of everyone it touches.

“We are excited to feature Ruby’s Bucket of Blood for the first time in our networks. This powerful story was exquisitely portrayed by the multitalented Angela Bassett. The director successfully takes the audience back to the 1960’s; the attention to detail, in addition to a well-written script is noticeable throughout the film,” stated Jesús Piñango, director of TV Content Strategy at Olympusat.

Directed by Peter Werner and produced by Showtime Networks, Ruby’s Bucket of Blood takes place in 1961 in the small town of Chacahoula, LA.
