Univision: ¡Mira Quién Baila!, Pequeños Gigantes USA 2 and NBL back in a new format

Lourdes Díaz, president of Entertainment, spoke about the passion for family, music and drama: three of the pillars of UCI's programming

Emphasizing the five passions of its audience -family, news, sports, music and drama- Univision Communications, Inc. (UCI) held on Tuesday, May 16 its traditional annual upfront presentation at the Lyric Theatre.

The presentation started with the performance of Becky G, followed by the participations of Keith Turner, President of Advertising Sales and Marketing, and Steve Mandala, EVP of Advertising Sales. Turner mentioned that a survey conducted among Hispanics revealed that 73% feel more attracted to brands that are advertised on Univision.

Mandala reminded the audience that the presentation was focused on passion and that escalating is the first item on the agenda. “During any month of the year, our portfolio reaches 108 non-duplicated consumers, a 34% increase year after year that is the result of UCI´s continuous effort to create a varied portfolio.”

Jessica Rodríguez, EVP and CMO, highlighted the passion Hispanics feel for soccer. “71% of Hispanics feel they are the biggest soccer fans and five out of six live sports events are soccer, and we have all that on Univision Deportes” she expressed.

Then, Juan Carlos Rodríguez, president of Sports, announced that starting in 2018 Univision Deportes will be the home of the UEFA Champions League.

María Elena Salinas and Jorge Ramos from Univision Noticias highlighted Hispanic´s passion for news.

Lourdes Díaz, president of Entertainment, spoke about the passion for family, music and drama. In family programming, she announced the return of ¡Mira Quién Baila!, Pequeños Gigantes USA 2, a new format for the 11th edition of Nuestra Belleza Latina (Nuestra Belleza Latina: Belleza Total), debut of the formats Tu Cara Me Suena and of A Jugar En Familia, this last one with Simon Cowell as executive producer.

In music, the biopic Luis Miguel, El Sol De Mexico with Pedro Torres as executive producer and Barrio Records, by Story House Entertainment. In Drama, the second season of El Chapo, El Último Dragón from W Studios, and Televisa´s Mi Marido Tiene Familia, among others.
