Clara Aranovich of Nunchaku Cine: JC Penney’s campaign aids in showing and celebrating diversity among our community

JC Penney celebrated the Hispanic Heritage Month with a Latino women’s {testimonial;www.produ.com/publicidad/videos/index.html?Noti=10053} series featuring their daily struggle to impact positively their community. Clara Aranovich, team member at Nunchaku Cine filmed the campaign, which was conceptualized by Grupo Gallegos. “I was thrilled when Grupo Gallegos called me to work in this project after another campaign we did together. They look after their clients very much and this is remarkable” she told PRODU. “If there is something I know for sure –I grew up in the U.S. and I’m daughter of two South American immigrants, white skin and redhead-, is that Americans are more likely to be short sighted about what Latino women are” she explained. “This type of campaign aids in showing and celebrating diversity among our community.” Aranovich aimed to show cinematographically the intimate moments of the interviewees’ lives. She confessed that being able to work with real women dedicated to community service was a profound inspiring experience. “Community service is a very relevant aspect in my personal life, and that’s why I felt strongly engaged with its values and work. Coaching people with no acting experience has its challenges, but the stories of these women are so special and exciting that the only thing I had to do was to ask honest questions and let the camera do the rest.”
