Johnson & Johnson updated its application Donate a Photo and now offers donations to charity associations in exchange for pictures of their clients. The images can be sent through Facebook and Twitter.Among the changes are new features of the interface, which turn it into a faster and more comfortable application for users.“There are a lot of good things in this update”, said Jeff Hazen, founder and CEO of Gotta Mobilize, Seattle. “Especially due to the fact that J&J is collaborating with a good cause, through an activity that most mobile users carry out, take pictures and share them.”For each picture a user shares on Donate a Photo, Johnson & Johnson will donate US$ 1 to a charity cause from a list that will change as time goes by.Among the causes they are supporting are: Padres, Familias y Amigos de Lesbianas y Gays, who carry out an anti bullying plan at shcools. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is a research center that fights against children´s cancer, which will also benefit from the shared images. Unicef and the American Diabetes Association are other participating organizations.Donate a Photo until now, has financed 20,000 eye examinations for low resource children, 4,000 devices to revive newborns and have recovered 14 public parks. The initiative was born in 2013 and has grown thanks to mobile devices.
