Jorge Colon of Letca: We closed the year with one of the best reels on the market

From the perspective of Jorge Colon, president and founder of Letca Films, the year 2013 ended with excellent results, both for the production company with its outstanding roster of directors, and for the great progress made by the Hispanic market in the United States.“Year after year the Hispanic market seems to grow in importance, because we have shown that we can come up with ideas, formats, art and creativity as good or better than any other market – even more efficient than the general market – because somehow we have to face obstacles that they may never have to deal with” Colon told PRODU.“This year our segment took several more steps forward to validate us, to gain respect and have our importance acknowledged. We have to let the world know that we understand perfectly what it means to be a Hispanic living in the United States, which is very different from just being Hispanic” he said.As for the year’s balance for Letca, Colon is very pleased to have taken part in important campaigns inside and outside the United States, like the superproduction for Ruffles. He also noted the growth of the production company in various aspects, including its roster of directors.“With the signing of Marcelo Burgos and Juan Carlos Martin, together with Sebastian Borensztein and myself, Letca right now has one of the best reels on the market. I’m very pleased with our 2013 record, not least because of our association with Terciopelo, with Garlic Films in Spain, and because now we can provide the service our clients need, and the chance to film anywhere they want” he said.
