Luis Miguel Messianu, Chairman at U.S. Círculo Creativo and ALMA Agency, and Gustavo Lauría, President of the Círculo and Co-Founder of We Believers talked to PRODU about the U.S. Hispanic Idea Awards that will take place on October 14th and of the more active role the organization is playing. “We’re aiming for a Círculo with more and more resources to send young creatives to Cannes” Lauría said. Both said that they are searching for educational scholarships. “The challenge has more to do with convocation. A nonprofit association trying to have more visibility, more autonomy to raise funds to reinvest and continue raising creatives and creativity levels in our market” Messianu said. They said it’s important to reinforce communication with the Cannes Lions festival, that is why this year their CEO, Phill Thomas will be there. “Because this is important for creatives and to do new businesses; and with their U.S. representative to guarantee the Hispanic agencies participation in the festival” said Lauría. “Philip will come to inspire and share his impressions of the last Cannes, to talk a bit about trends” Messianu added. After admitting that last year there were no women juries, this year the President will be Fernanda Romano, Founder and Creative Partner at Malagueta Grupo. “There is no balance in the industry regarding women and we’re committed to increase and balance genders” Messianu said.
