Mark Hunter from The Community: London Remains As The Advertising Center

Mark Hunter, Executive Creative Director at The Community will be leading the agency from London. He admitted that having presence in Europe means serving clients globally and competing in international pitches. “London remains as the advertising center in the world and all creative agencies’ dream is to work in here. The Community is no different.” The office in London has a small group of clients including Tesco Mobile and Britain’s Beer Alliance. “The Community is Tesco Mobile’s agency of record across all channels so in that sense we do everything for them. We developed their strategic positioning and their tagline, Smile, You’re On Tesco Mobile, and we handle all brand communications for them.” With BBA as their AOR, he said, we develop work for them across all touch points. “We are about to shoot a series of online films with the aim of helping to take a wider message for the audience.” Recently, the agency won a piece of business on a leading beauty care brand together with the Miami office. He considers himself as a believer that advertising is a reflection of the world we live in, so if the world finds itself in a strange and interesting place it’s quite possible that this will have an effect on the advertising we see. “Both of our founding clients have a strong feeling about inclusiveness and encourages us to tell relevant stories of today’s diverse Britain, and not the one seen in history books.” For Hunter, brands could be more capable of offering a more honest and objective voice than politicians. “I think smart brands can operate in the middle ground between hard left and right offering a honest and human reflection of the increasingly toxic world we live in” he said.
