Tr3s: Two thirds of the Latinos believe that it is difficult to find a full time job

Patricia Molina| 7 de mayo de 2014

As part of their recently published study, Millennium Hispanics at work and in their free time, Tr3s asked Hispanics between 19 and 34 years about the work benefits they are getting from their employers. The most relevant conclusions are below.Hispanic workers are slightly less prone tan non-Hispanics to have sick days sponsored by the company (47% of Hispanics, 51% of non-Hispanics). Four out of ten Hispanics have medical insurance, paid for their employers partly, at least.Almost one of four Hispanics says that their working hours have been reduced to avoid having health care benefits; men are being more affected by this phenomenon tan women. Due to this, two thirds of Latinos believe that is difficult to find a full time job. However, three out of four Hispanic would be willing to accept a part time job without health care benefits. There is a gap regarding working benefits of young Hispanic adults and non-Hispanics. Non-Hispanic men specially, are prone than women to have paid sick days, holidays and medical insurance.Three quarters of young adults believe there must be a law to guarantee workers to be paid during sick days. Hispanic and non-Hispanic are in favor of a similar law, almost in the same proportion.
