Ypulse publishes its statistics on millennials for Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2015

Los millennials en promedio manejarán un presupuesto de US$352 para regalos navideños

Ypulse, the marketing research firm that specializes in young people and millennials published last Thursday November 19th its annual Holiday shopping survey. Retailers expect 77% of millennials to buy on Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but the study revealed that as opposed to 2014, they will be more careful with their money. In 2015 they plan to spend 22% less on Black Friday and 21% less on Cyber Monday. Regardless, a total spending amount of US$49.5 billion.The survey said that millennials reported that they will be spending an average of US$352 this year. A total spending amount of US$32 billion from that category is estimated for the Holidays. 84% of millennials who took part in the survey said that the main person on the shopping list is their mother, 71% will buy for their siblings and 70% will buy gifts for their fathers. Gifts for friends total 58%. Almost one third of millennial men (32%) would like to receive something technological for the Holidays, while 29% would prefer cash. Clothing and books come last on their wishlist. On the other hand, 29% of women in this category would rather receive cash or gift cards, 18% clothes, 11% technology or an experience. The most coveted piece is a new pair of boots (44%).
