Clínica X is a new production of Sony Pictures Television that will premiere next Monday the 13th at 7pm on its Sony Channel signal; is a docudrama in scripted reality format, which for the first time brings together three different genres: fiction, documentary, and reality, and is part of the group’s strategy to continue promoting original local production.

Ana Bond, Senior VP and General Director of International Production for Latin America, Sony Pictures Television, described it as a very innovative format. “It is a combination of reality with scripted, where we deal with current issues and medical relevance in a very professional environment, in a clinic, with a channel that follows reality, but with a dramatic touch, that seeks an emotional connection.”

Starring real doctors with different specialties, it was able to bring together three genres thanks to three award-winning directors, experts in these genres, who contributed their visions to obtain this innovative format: Andrés López (documentary), Edgar Peña (reality) and Rolando Ocampo (fiction).

Alejandro García, VP of Development and Production of SPT, said that this is content with high production values, and human themes, with a production crew of +200 and just over a thousand extras.

“Medical dramas are part of Sony Channel’s DNA; stories about medical staff, those heroes who fight to keep patients alive, and the stories behind these cases. Fans of this content can find in our channel the best shows like The Good Doctor and Grey’s Anatomy. Now, we are proud to bring Clínica X, a local production much closer to our viewers,” said Selina Nederhand, SVP & Co-Networks, Head of Content Strategy at Sony Pictures Entertainment.

In each episode of Clinica X, doctors will receive three challenging, surprising, and unexpected cases, unusual conditions that threaten the life of patients in search of a diagnosis. It features a team of seven doctors, six nurses, two receptionists, a guard, and a paramedic. The knowledge, curiosity, and experience of a general practitioner, a pediatrician, a specialist in infectious diseases, a gynecologist, two internists, and a neurosurgeon will be displayed throughout 30 chapters, each with a different story.
