AT&T launches Multimedios TV on DIRECTV´ Spanish-language packages

The channel is included in the packages Lo Máximo, Más Últra, Óptimo Más and Más Latino

AT&T will bring Multimedios Television, one of Mexico’s fastest-growing channels to the DIRECTV platform (channel 412) in Spanish-language packages – Lo Máximo, Más Últra, Óptimo Más and Más Latino beginning May 15.“Multimedios, one of the best sources of original broadcast quality programming from Mexico, is excited to partner with DIRECTV in reaching so many families across the United States,” said Gustavo Mena, a former distribution executive at CBS Cable and Telemundo/NBC who handles Multimedios’ distribution in the U.S. “We pride ourselves on providing our customers with a wide variety of programming that serves many different communities and interests. The addition of Multimedios to the DIRECTV platform will give this unique channel exposure on both of our platforms serving an even larger number of customers in these communities,” said Emma Brackett, VP of Content & Programming at AT&T.Known for such fast-paced live entertainment programs as Acábatelo (Finish It) and Las Noches Del Fútbol (Soccer Nights), Multimedios Television features all-original programming for every age group. Between hard-hitting flagship newscasts and buzz-generating reality shows such as Mitad y Mitad (My Other Half), all programming is colorful, engrossing and designed to make viewers feel as if they were in Mexico.A trusted name in Mexico for generations, the channel’s parent company Grupo Multimedios began making its much-anticipated U.S. rollout in 2009. As pay-TV systems retooled their Spanish-language lineups to match what viewers were demanding, Grupo Multimedios’ channels rose to the top of their must-add list.
