The program MasterChef (17×120’) for Mexico, produced in Mexico and Colombia, thanks to the agreement between Azteca and Endemol Shine Latino, which will debut on Trece Sunday June 28th at 9pm, is the type of program Azteca wants for weekends. “This is precisely what we want for weekends, entertainment formats, basic ones, no fiction. For Sunday at prime time, when families gather together, we want contest programs, realities, digestible ones that make people smile, now that they are having such a hard time with economic problems, and problems in the country and in their homes, which they can escape from by watching a bit of entertainment on Trece”, told PRODU Rodrigo Fernández, Programming general director at Azteca. After almost a year of work, in June they will have the fifth adaptation of MasterChef, a Shine Latino format that already exists in Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Colombia, with the production of Cristina Palacio.“We think that due to the country’s culinary richness, because it is on Azteca, and thanks to Cristina Palacio’s production (this is her second MasterChef in the region), the program will turn out spectacularly”, said Daniel Rodríguez, executive co VP at Endemol Shine Latino, when he announced the agreement.
