Marco Bassetti, current CEO of Banijay Entertainment, will serve as CEO of the new company
Banijay Group and RedBird IMI announced on Tuesday the 3rd that they plan to create an entertainment giant by combining their assets, Banijay Entertainment and All3Media. The new company will be called Banijay.
Marco Bassetti, current CEO of Banijay Entertainment, will serve as CEO of the new company. If the transaction is approved by regulators in both the United Kingdom and the European Commission, it is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
A new giant in the audiovisual industry will emerge, bringing together scripted, entertainment, and non-fiction titles such as The Traitors, Big Brother, Survivor, Peaky Blinders, Hamnet, and Your Face Sounds Familiar, among many others—representing more than 260,000 hours of content across all genres.
Banijay Group and RedBird IMI—the joint venture between RedBird Capital Partners and IMI (an Abu Dhabi–based media group) and owner of All3Media—will each hold 50% ownership of the new Banijay. The deal includes the Banijay Live division, which Marco Bassetti’s group has strongly invested in over the past year. As agreed, RedBird IMI will transfer its stake in All3Media to the newly merged entity, resulting in a total cash inflow of US$923 million for Banijay Group.
The new Banijay will have combined revenues of more than US$5.1 billion and adjusted EBITDA of US$724 million, according to 2024 figures. The synergies generated by the merger are expected to result in US$58 million in savings.
COMBINING BANIJAY ENTERTAINMENT AND ALL3MEDIA
Jeff Zucker, CEO of RedBird IMI, will serve as chairman of the board of the new Banijay. In his first remarks following the announcement, Zucker said: “When we launched RedBird IMI three years ago, we always dreamed of creating an entertainment company built on diversification and excellence, with global reach across both scripted and unscripted, live events, and the digital environment. By combining Banijay Entertainment and All3Media we have achieved that goal. We are delighted with this partnership with the entire Banijay team.”
