Cisneros Studios: First production in Colombia this year is based on the life of the heir to the Cali Cartel

The first series Cisneros Studios is producing in Colombia this year is based on the life of William Rodríguez Abadía, son and nephew of Miguel and Gilberto Rodríguez Orejuela, founders of one of the most feared criminal organizations in Colombia in the 90s.Juan Carlos Sosa, EVP of Operations of Cisneros Studios, told PRODU that Cristina Palacio, partner of Cisneros Studios, heads the Colombia team. Were in the process of building the production team. This project will likely be executed as a co-production. Were already working on the casting, said Sosa.When asked about the results of 2014, Sosa said, they were excellent.We just rebranded Venevision Productions into Cisneros Studios. We started and finished three fiction projects: two teleseries (DeMente Criminal and Ruta 35), and one telenovela (Voltea Pa Que Te Enamores), for a total of approximately 255 hours. In the variety genre we logged 170 hours of El Palenque con Enrique Santos, 315 hours of Tu Día Alegre, 75 hours of Quién Tiene La Razón, and 120 hours of Casos De Familia. We also pre-produced a new talk show to be hosted by Mexican personality Roxanna Castellano that will start shooting at the end of the month, added Sosa.The studios also kicked off its astrology show El Arquitecto De Sueños, hosted by Alfonso León, with 15 hours already produced.For 2015, Cisneros plans to co-produce a new youth series from its facilities in Miami, as well as a telenovela and another teleseries.
