EstrellaTV’s local Miami station WGEN-8 recently reached its first-year milestone.

Like its parent network, WGEN Estrella 8 has experienced outstanding growth in ratings and ad sales revenue over the last twelve months and is already a leading force in the South Florida Market. Since its launch, WGEN-8 has built a powerful local sales team, currently led by broadcasting veteran Nicolas Valls, general manager.

In the past year, WGEN-8 has been successful in establishing a robust account portfolio comprised of high profile local accounts in various industries, such as automotive, health plans and clinics, insurance companies, travel agencies, law offices, and concert promoters, to name a few. On the national ad clients’ side, the station has also successfully secured key regional banks and retailers, as well as automotive, insurance companies, quick service restaurants, regional supermarkets, and national retailers.

“As we reach our first-year milestone, we are excited to announce the launch of our local WGEN-8 newscasts, which will not only increase our viewership in the South Florida area but will give Miami Hispanics a vibrant news product designed and produced specifically for them,” stated Valls.

In its first year in the South Florida market, WGEN-8 has had a proven track record in partnering with both local and national clients, as well as building its viewership in key dayparts including prime time. The station is preparing for another major out of home campaign promoting Tengo Talento, MuchoTalento’s 10 year anniversary, as well as other hit shows, such as the network’s late-night talk show format Noches Con Platanito and the station’s much-anticipated 5pm and 11pm local newscasts.
