Fox Deportes is most-watched Spanish language sports cable network in October

Fox Deportes posted impressive viewership in October, dominating its competition across all major day-parts — total day, prime time, late night and weekend day—in both Persons 2+ and Adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research. The network was led by its coverage of Major League Baseball’s National League Championship Series and World Series, along with growing success of franchise news shows Central Fox and La Última Palabra, which continue to set viewership records.“We are very pleased with our audience in October and look forward to continued success this month through the end of the year. With more than 1,200 live hours of sports news on a yearly basis, our goal is to provide viewers the best and most compelling sports events complemented by unparalleled news and commentary from our studio shows,” said Vincent Cordero, executive vice president and general manager, Fox Deportes.In finishing October as the No. 1 Spanish-language cable sports network in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, Fox Deportes’ total day audience was +15% among Adults 18-49 when compared to a year ago. The network’s single biggest day part increase since 2011 came during late night (+26%). Fox Deportes’ event programming in October was highlighted by postseason baseball, specifically the NLCS between the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals and World Series which featured the Giants and Detroit Tigers. Compared to Fox Deportes’ coverage of the ALCS in 2011, this season’s NLCS audience was +15% in HHs, +45% Adults 18-49 and +47% among Men 18-49. Fox Deportes’ audience for this year’s four-game World Series sweep by the Giants was +21% HHs versus the first four games of the 2011 World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers which went seven games and +18% among Men 18-49.
