The Spanish-language entertainment industry continues to bet on documentary and unscripted content. In this spirit, Gloria Trevi once again joins producer Sebastián Jiménez of JK Media to launch La Trevi Sin Filtro, a documentary series produced for ViX Premium that showcases the Mexican artist’s life — unscripted, unfiltered, and completely authentic.
The series, which was filmed in Mexico, Spain, and the U.S., is part of the Sin Filtro format created by Jiménez, who had previously worked with Trevi on Ellas Soy Yo.
“The idea came from Sebastián, who asked if I’d be willing to open the doors of my home and share my life with the audience. I said I was more than willing because it’s my way of thanking people for their support — inviting them into my home, my tour, my life, my journey. Everything that happens behind a concert. Everyday life situations. The audience deserves this; they deserve to be treated like family,” said Trevi during the series presentation.
La Trevi sin Filtro consists of 10 episodes for ViX Premium and a second season is already planned. The singer serves as executive producer alongside Sebastián Jiménez and Flavio Morales, with Mirtha Miranda as showrunner.
Jiménez explained that the project was born from a trusted relationship of more than a decade with the artist.
“I’ve known Gloria for 15 years, and in the last three or four she’s been showing her true self more — facing the noise and the controversy head-on. We sat down and said, ‘This is the time to show what’s behind the stage.’ That’s what gave us access to everything,” Jiménez shared.
The producer highlighted the artist’s openness throughout the filming process:
“She’s an executive producer and very hands-on. She texts me at one in the morning, her husband at three, bringing ideas, conversations, events that could work for the documentary. We filmed everything. There was never a single scene where she said, ‘Take that out.’ She left everything just as we wanted.”
Jiménez emphasized ViX’s role as a platform that embraces authentic and real content. “ViX is a pioneer in this type of unscripted content. We did Chiquis sin Filtro, which was number one in the U.S., and when we told them about Gloria, within five minutes they said, ‘We want it.’ They saw the success and know what their audience wants to watch.”
He noted that the platform is driving the creation of original unscripted Spanish-language content aimed at both Mexican viewers and the U.S. Hispanic market.
The producer revealed that the series avoids fictional or visual gimmicks:
“In this case, you see Gloria often in her car, at home, or in the kitchen. She’s without filters, without special lighting, because we didn’t ask her to stand here or there. It’s real. It’s 100% documentary,” he added.
The Sin Filtro format is consolidating as a documentary franchise for Latin artists. Jiménez shared:
“We’re already in production on the second season of Chiquis Sin Filtro — we’ve filmed about 80% and are in post-production. There will also be a second season of Gloria’s show and new ones with other artists, because people want to see what’s behind the scenes. On social media everyone uses filters, but here we show the truth,” Jiménez revealed.
He also confirmed that JK Media is developing new unscripted and light fiction projects, aiming to continue creating content that comes straight from the hearts of artists for global platforms.
