LATV: Deal with Guillermo Santiso and evaluating a third show for syndication

LATV Networks recently updated its logo and look and introduced new shows. “We decided to set our slogan as ‘La TV la original’ (The original TV). Among our recent programming changes, we’ve gone back to some of the early things that made us LATV,” said to PRODU Luca Bentivoglio, COO and head of Programming of the channel.Bentivoglio said that the new changes include an agreement with Guillermo Santiso (creator of the regional Mexican music channel ATM), to broadcast several daily programming blocks: Desveladas at 7pm, Las Chacalosas at 10pm, and morning show Las Mañanitas, among other shows.“It’s an experiment that has already yielded results in the first few weeks, particularly in the very coveted Los Angeles market. We’re very competitive in certain blocks with KAZA (Azteca America) and MundoFox (Channel 22). This proves the importance of knowing the market,” said Bentivoglio, adding that they have found a good formula: “Our primetime is solid with the right portfolio of shows.”Bentivoglio also said that in the area of syndication, where they have the shows American latino TV and Latination, which are geared toward English-speaking Hispanics and distributed in the general market, they are looking to produce a third show dedicated to lifestyle, fashion and trends.“American Latino is on its 12th season and Latination on its 11th. We’re in about 90% of the U.S. general market. For the new show, we’re in conversations with Cinemat in Miami, owned by José Vicente Scheuren. They have a show called The Style Club that is appealing to us. It will all depend on whether there is space available for a third show on the channels with which we already have agreements,” added Bentivoglio.
