Rodríguez brings nearly two decades of broadcast experience to WLTV Univision 23 and WAMI TeleFutura 69

Univision Communications Inc. announced the appointment of Michael T. Rodríguez to the position of VP and general manager of the Univision and TeleFutura affiliates in Miami. This announcement was made by Kevin Cuddihy, president, Univision Television Group. “Michael’s expertise in Hispanic media is second to none, and we plan to tap into that experience as well as the total power of the Univision Network in order to continue to grow in the Miami market. Michael began his career -most of which has been spent in Miami- at Univision Radio and we are very excited for his homecoming,” said Cuddihy. “The 2010 Census showed that South Florida’s population growth is being fueled by Hispanics, with about half of the state’s Hispanic population living in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Therefore, Univision’s stations in this market couldn’t be a more important source of information and entertainment for this community,” commented Rodríguez. Rodríguez comes to Univision from Telemundo, where he was EVP of Development, Distribution and Broadcast Operations, and before that, SVP of Network Sales and Marketing since 2007. Prior to this, from 2002 to 2007, he was VP and general manager of WSCV-TV in Miami. From 1997 to 2002 he was Local Sales manager at WFOR-TV (CBS) in Miami. He began his career in 1992 as local account executive for Univision Radio in Miami.
