Comercio TV, a 24/7 Spanish-language financial news channel available on Spectrum across the U.S., was recently launched by the Tarima TV group. Comercio TV is available both via streaming and as a pay TV channel.

The group already operates Tarima TV, a concert-focused channel distributed through pay TV providers such as Sling, Dish, and Spectrum in the U.S., and in the Caribbean with Claro in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

“Comercio TV is an entirely new financial news channel aimed at providing financial education and also covering what’s happening in the stock market, using language that’s easy for the public to understand,” explained Freddy Arias, Jr., Director of Content Strategy at Tarima TV, in an interview with PRODU.

In addition to its U.S. presence on Spectrum, the channel is available in Puerto Rico via Claro and in the Dominican Republic through Altice and Claro.

“We plan to expand distribution. We’re already on several free streaming platforms such as Freecast, Dystro TV, Freebie TV, and ViVa Live TV—some of which are global apps. The goal is to continue expanding through major cable operators as well,” said Arias.

The idea to create Comercio TV emerged after a market study commissioned by Horowitz Research revealed that nearly 70% of Hispanics were interested in learning more about the financial world. “They pointed out that there wasn’t a tool or resource they could turn to to learn more. Univision and Telemundo only provide very brief overviews of topics like tariffs. We wanted to go deeper and help people understand what’s going on,” he said.

Arias emphasized that they also provide a key space for entrepreneurship, something that defines the Hispanic community. “As Hispanics, we’re extremely entrepreneurial, but we often don’t have a lot of money or access to the same resources that other groups, like whites or Asians, might have. There’s always a knowledge gap, and we wanted to do our part to empower the U.S. Hispanic population to take command in the financial world. We’re big consumers, and if we could invest just 1% of what we spend, we’d be a very different country. Latinos are capable, creative people, and in the business world, we just need more efforts like this to connect the dots,” he added.

PROGRAMMING

At launch, Comercio TV features four hours of live programming.

Highlighted shows include:

Buenos Días Wall Street: A flagship morning program that presents the most relevant financial news, expert analysis, and market updates to start the day informed. Hosted by Ana Cobos and Alejandro Nava.

El Campanazo: Live coverage around the opening and closing bells of Wall Street, featuring real-time updates, market analysis, and business headlines. Hosted by Vanessa Carranza and Natalia Ospina.

Finanzas 101: An educational series that teaches essential financial concepts and investment strategies to build wealth and confidence in the markets. Hosted by Manuel Ramos, founder of Ramos Capital Group.

Arias mentioned that they already have plans for two or three more live shows shortly.

BRAND

Arias said the initiative has been well-received at the corporate level. “For example, we were recently at an event—Fintech Americas in Miami—where we broadcast live and interviewed several business personalities. They were surprised to learn about the Comercio TV brand. There’s no other news source like this in the U.S. that provides all this information. We’re also engaging with people through our YouTube channel and on social media like Instagram,” he noted.

He emphasized that Comercio TV is considered a brand, not just a channel.

“Our website is a powerful information tool that’s updated daily, as are all the channel’s social platforms: YouTube, Instagram, X. We like to say that the product—or raw material—of Comercio TV is financial information in Spanish, and people can consume it however they prefer. The mission is to deliver that information to the people in a way that suits them best,” he stated.
