Caupolicán Ovalles S., Venezuelan film and TV director, and also producer, the same as many others in the industry has been affected by the pandemic, which forced him to suspend the production of the demo of his film Dog Aches, but already resumed the shooting with all the recommended biosafety protocols. “It was necessary to change in the script some of the romantic scenes,” mentioned Ovalles, who has directed films like Muerte en Berruecos (2018) and Memorias de un Soldado (2012).

He is currently in the post-production of the teaser of Dog Aches and is using this situation to “prepare and update the projects for the new reality”. He added that, for now, in production, human contact is one of the changes, “in fact, in the demo I shot, we adjusted a love scene”.

According to Ovalles, once the pandemic is overcome, there will be a rebound in production, to fill the voids created by the paralyzation.

“We must adapt to reality. For the intimate scenes or those with kisses, there would have to be accurate medical exams to protect the actors,” he mentioned and added that it is very likely for new stories to appear and others to be adjusted.
