Telemundo licensed the rights to broadcast 10 animated features from Disney-Pixar

Telemundo announced that it has licensed the rights to broadcast multiple animated features from Disney-Pixar. This agreement marks the first time Disney-Pixar movies become available on a Spanish language television network in the U.S.The deal will bring ten box office hits, including six Academy Award winners, to U.S. Spanish-language television audiences starting in October. The first Disney-Pixar film to debut as part of the licensing agreement is the Academy Award winning animated feature The Incredibles on October 2. The other animated films included in the deal are Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug’s Life, Cars, Up, Finding Nemo, WALL-E, Ratatouille, and Monsters, Inc.“Hispanics make up one-quarter of the audiences that attend animated films. This new and exciting deal will allow our audiences to watch some of their favorite Disney-Pixar productions in the comfort of their homes, in addition to the high-quality original productions they have come to love and expect from Telemundo. We are proud to be able to bring the very best in animation to our audience,” said Joshua Mintz, SVP, Telemundo Entertainment.“We are delighted to have our animated features from Pixar for the first time in the Spanish language television network in the U.S. through Telemundo Network who has been a big support for many years,” said Fernando Barbosa, SVP of Disney Media Networks for Latin America, U.S. Hispanic and Iberia.
